Super surf - closer than you think

Dear customer,

Europe has fantastic destinations to offer and the conditions to try surfing are seldom better than during the summer. Warm waters and gentle beach breaks makes it a great place to try the fastest growing sport in the world right now.

Our most popular destinations in Europe are Lisbon in Portugal and Hossegor in France - both wonderful summer cities offering fantastic surfing conditions.

Hossegor is the surfing capital of Europe, few would dispute that. The big surf brands have their European headquarters here and many months of the year you'll find yourself surfing the same waves as top pro surfers - for instance Mick Fanning, reigning ASP champion lives here. The reason to this is evident - Hossegor has fantastic waves. Our camp in Hossegor is everything that you'd expect from a real surf house - as Karin Henriksson, one of the two girls managing the camp describes it:

"- Our camp is back to the roots, stress is banned from this place and we surf when the sun and tide allows us to. Staying with us is like walking into a nice surf film"

One of our customers, Lisa Tomren from Norway adds:

"- I'm very happy with my stay! The people, waves, good conditions and party were great! If people are going surfing in Europe this summer I'd certainly recommend Hossegor."

June to September is the best time to go to Hossegor and since the camp is small it fills up quickly during July and August. Towards September the swells get bigger and you're sometimes wondering if you're really in France and not on Hawaii - this is also when the pro's come in and when Quickpro France - one of the most prestigious titles on the ASP tour - is held. Lisbon is a fabulous destination, it might not be the surfing capital of Europe, but being the capital of Portugal it offers great surfing combined with vibrant city life. Only 30-40 minutes from the city centre, located just next to UNESCO world heritage city of Sintra, it offers an unbeatable combination of beach, city and nightlife. Our camp is, unlike many of the surf-factories along the Portuguese coast, a small family run business where you get a more personal service with fewer people per instructor. The manager of the camp, also Karin, but this time Seelow, says:

"- There is so much to explore around our coastline and its so unspoiled with less crowded beaches than some other well known areas in Portugal, that it makes it perfect for the guests that truly want to learn to surf."

For anyone looking for sun and fun waves May to October is the time to go, the winter brings bigger swells and is great for advanced surfers, but it's during the summer that the place really comes to life. Alongside the slow pace of the back alleys and heritage towns you have night clubs open 24 hours, music festivals like Super Bock Super Rock and Rock in Rio and plus tons of smaller events with food wine, bullfighting and music. Read more about Lisbon here.

The key thing with all our European camps is that they are small and popular, July and August fill up completely, not only at the camps, but also when it comes to air and train tickets. Being popular is great, but comes at the cost of planning. Are you looking to catch some nice waves in Europe this summer - get booking! We know all the right people to get you the vacation you're looking for.
